James Crosby is the Veterans Service Agent for the towns of Abington and Whitman. Crosby is 31 now, when he was 19 he was deployed to Iraq, he was involved in an ambush that caused paralysis of his lower extremities. James is permanently forced to use a wheelchair.
James owns a home in Abington that has a stairwell from the entrance to the main level of the home. To negotiate the stairs of his home, he has to crawl out of his wheelchair and drag himself up and down the stairs.
A group of veterans from the American Legion Post in Holbrook, Ma has banded together to help this Marine. Those veterans are working together to essentially rebuild his home to retrofit an elevator in his home so he can comfortably move about his home. This will also bring back a sense of pride for James. So he doesn’t have to crawl out of his wheelchair and drag himself up and down the stairs in his home.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2125 in Bridgewater has also joined the fight to help James. At our monthly Community Breakfast on February 13th, whatever proceeds we make that day, the Post will match that dollar amount and donate it towards the Disabled Veteran Home Rehabilitation Fund. This fund is collecting money to help James reconstruct his home to fit an elevator.
So now it is up to you. The more people we have coming in for breakfast on February 13th, the more money we can donate to help James. Another way you can help James, any and all donations made through the PayPal “Make a Donation” button in the top right section of this page, through the month of February, will be donated directly towards the Disabled Veteran Home Rehabilitation Fund.
I hope to see you there.
